About the Founder

Blake Cason, M.S.

Blake Cason is a smile-out-loud kind of lady.

Hi— my name is Blake Cason

I am a Certified Professional Life Coach and facilitator, who has been working with people who want to create a sustainably healthy lifestyle since 2007.

As founder and life-balance curator, Pivot has a deep personal connection for me.  Over the last 15+ years, I have worked with clients in the mental/behavioral health paradigm, as a

  • mental health case manager

  • sexual health educator

  • diabetes prevention lifestyle coach

  • at-risk youth life coach

  • yoga and meditation instructor

  • and college professor, to name a few.

In all of these professional roles, my reasons for being there were always supporting the growth of others and, equally, self-development.  And, indeed, this intention has always been accomplished in spades: humans are incredible and insightful if we only stop and listen.

And from those experiences, I coach.  You have all of the wisdom and insight within you already, you amazing human, you.  My skill is not in fixing your life, but with sitting with you and asking powerful, timely questions that encourage you to reflect upon what is and isn't working and what may be the ticket to your right direction.  My job as coach is to support you unpacking things that may be getting in the way and, more importantly, to tap into your strengths to carry you towards your goals in any area of life: career, health, relationships, finances, spirituality, or self-development.

Putting in the Work— in Africa

In the 2.5 years Blake lived in southern and western Africa, she worked with the World Health Organization (WHO), several smaller HIV prevention NGOs, Planned Parenthood Ghana, lived in the bustle of Accra, facilitated a female empowerment workshop for high risk teens, learned French, and traveled to nine African countries.  All before her 23rd birthday.

The common and rich thread between all of these adventures was opportunity to sit down with people in need of support, struggling to change their lives, and in dire need of a more effective framework.

When we want change, we need someone to sit with us, hear our story, and help us discover our balance.

Mental Health clinic, wilderness therapy life coach in Utah

The Return State-Side

Through these incredibly formative years, Blake consciously explored ways to give back.  After facilitating so many groups and workshops, the first formal steps as a wellness and life coach began in a free mental health clinic.  Blake worked with individuals to find help, resources and guidance in making the changes that had kept them stuck in patterns they identified as unhealthy.

The years after were a special mix of travel, self-development and career refinement.  In two years as a wilderness therapy life coach in Alabama, Florida and Utah, she had the incredible opportunity to share the outdoor and teach life skills and personal-development to youth and young adults.

These highly emotional and physical experiences were a fertile ground for mindfulness skills development, both for Blake and her students, skills that were taught and utilized with powerful results.  After over 10 years of personal practice, she obtained her 200-hour yoga instructor certification. This experience left Blake with an even greater passion for the potential of yoga and meditation as wellness tools— two significant elements of her practice today.

Masters degree in Health Behavior, Diabetes Prevention Lifestyle coach, positive psychology assistant, and yoga instructor.

Master’s Degree & Making It Happen

While obtaining a Master’s in Health Behavior and Education, Blake applied her healthy lifestyle insight and skill as a Diabetes Prevention Lifestyle Coach, Positive Psychology Teacher's Assistant, 5-day-a-week yoga instructor, community college health faculty, and sexual health communication workshop facilitator.

The tying together of these pursuits, purpose and inspiration came when she was certified as an Integrative Wellness and Life Coach.  Coaching from the inside-out (emotions and mental frameworks) as well as the outside-in (plans and strategies to overcome barriers) allows Blake to work with clients on what they identify as problems, issues, and struggles from a holistic model of life.

Clients leave sessions Pivot with a stronger sense of their own truth and path towards wellness, rather than advice of 'shoulds' and 'coulds.'  Wellness coaching means starting where you are, using what you have and doing what you can to live the life you want for yourself.

A Thriving Pivot, A Thriving Blake

Since establishing Pivot Wellness in 2016, Blake initial vision for this private practice that would enhance, inspire, and support her balanced personal life has become an incredible, sustainable reality.

In those years, Blake has maintained her evolving priorities to include the shifts in 1:1 client workload, tailoring workshops to groups and teams, continued education, and finding the right individuals and groups to practice her mastery.

Fantastically, those evolving professional priorities have left rich and mindful space for personal and climbing development. In 2020, Blake began representing climbing brands and became at athlete for Beal Ropes in 2021. This addition to her expert climbing resume has been another deliberate shift to enable her to demonstrate the power and personal growth of climbing to not-yet-climbers, and bring her wellness coaching expertise to the climbing community.

Blake’s thriving private practice alongside her healthy and happy personal and athletic life are what make Pivot Wellness so impactful. Living authentically and mindfully has been a challenging joy, and she is so honored to support others in their unique pursuit of their own version.
